We don’t get this replica idea quite well enough. Enthusiasts make replicas because they can’t afford the real supercar, right?
So they want a replica to look exactly the same with the original car (at least for the exterior) so that people will say “Oh, there’s a Ferporschini!” and believe that the guy’s pockets are loaded.
It is the only reason somebody would want a replica... to simulate wealth. You won’t achieve the performance or the luxury of the real supercar at home in the garage.
Which brings us to this ugly Ferrari California-wannabe replica. It was made by kit-car builder MI6 from the UK, which are also responsible for the Aston Martin DBS replica based on a Toyota Supra, which looked almost identical to the real thing. Thumbs up for that!
But they have failed a bit with this one, which is based on a Lexus SC 430. They might trick an untrained eye, but for a gearhead it won’t do. The proportions are wrong and the front fascia looks like a retarded frog.
Still, we appreciate their effort which you can see in the photo gallery bellow.
