So you thought that the Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce is way too expensive for it’s offering, right? That was something that kept you from purchasing one, not because you don’t have half a million dollars but because you thought it wasn’t worth it. Well, you might not be able to get your hands on one even if you want to.
That’s because Lamborghini just announced that only 600 units of the super-fast car will be made. That’s right, only 600 lucky people will get to enjoy this car as part of their personal garage, according to CEO Stephan Winkelmann.
The official debut of the V12 monster took place well over a month ago on the central scene in Geneva, and we learned all about what’s new on the hardcore SV model. Compared to the stock Aventador there are a few tricks enforced here.
For example, the SV has 50 extra horsepower compared to its brother, reaching a total of 750 HP out of the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12. At the same time, the weight of the thing was dropped by 50 kilos (110 lbs) bringing the power to weight ratio to 2 kilos per horsepower.
On top of all that, the downforce was increased by 70 percent using new aero parts as well as a big wing at the back. The new SuperVeloce is now capable of doing 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 2.8 seconds and goes up to a top speed of over 350 km/h (217 mph).
Yes, it’s an impressive beast and somehow, building a limited number of cars wearing that badge does make sense.
