Lamborghini has to decide if it want the third model in its lineup to be the Estoque four-door coupe or an SUV. For a while now, it looked like the odds were in favor of the Estoque, since the platform would be shared with the Audi A9, but rumors o an SUV test mule just wouldn’t let us say ‘case closed’.
In the end, it looks like the SUV will be built, since Italian publication QuattroRoute has the scoop on an upcoming model in its February issue. Apparently, a prototype / concept will be shown not at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March, but at the at China’s main even of the year, taking place a month later in Beijing (press days April 23-24, 2012).
The concept will adopt the same lines as the Aventador - sharp lines, jagged edges and stealth fighter looks. The concept will probably have a 575 hp version of the V10 in the Gallardo, but rumor has it the production version will arrive in 2015 with a 700 horsepower hybrid drivetrain.
Editor’s note: the photos look like the real deal, since we can see the rear suspention bits and pieces, but we have been fooled before.
