The Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini is planning one last special stripped-out limited edition Gallardo that will be available at the end of the year.
“It will be the least-gilded, back-to-basics stripped version,” said Lamborghini of America chief operating officer Michael Lock in an interview.
Basically, the special edition will ditch the unnecessary luxury features, leaving only a lightweight rear-drive six-speed manual gearbox Gallardo for the fans.
Power will come from the Gallardo’s V10 engine, but Lamborghini has not confirmed anything that it will be more powerful. The engine has a maximum output of 570 hp, which should be more than enough to push a car that will weight somewhere under 1,400 kg (3,086 lb).
With the Gallardo being a nine-year-old model, the new stripped-out edition will probably be the last, as the automaker hints that a replacement is on its way.
