When it comes to supercars, that's Lamborghini's bread and butter. But with McLaren it's a different deal. The Woking-based outfit started life as a Formula One team, not an out-and-out exotica manufacturer for the rich playboys as Lambo did.
Before the 1992 McLaren F1, McLaren wasn't interested in making road-legal vehicles for those who fancy the best. When Ron Dennis was trying to keep Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost under control in the first McLaren-Honda F1 era, a lad called Gordon Murray was still drawing sketches of the McLaren F1.

It was in 2011, with the McLaren MP4-12C, when the Brits really went all out with their ambition of becoming a true supercar manufacturer. After the 12C was phased out of production last year, its place was taken by the 650S, one of the most impressive four-wheeled machines ever to be put into production. 650 PS (641 HP) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) are there to propel a mere 1,330 kg (2,932 lbs) of dry weight.

Vector in a super fast seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and highly-advanced driving aids and you'll understand why the 650S is able to hit 100 km/h in just 3 seconds. Compared to the British bruiser, the Lamborghini Huracan is all-wheel drive and that little bit heftier at 1,422 kilograms (3,135 pounds). With 610 PS (601 horsepower) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) under its belt, it's also less powerful.

It may boast with Lamborghini's first-ever dual-clutch transmission, yet the Huracan is able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in 3.2 seconds, two tenths slower than the McLaren 650S. It's no wonder then what's the outcome of a drag race between these two supercars, but we want to ask you a simple question after you watch the video below: based exclusively on the sound they make and their looks, what would you choose between the plucky British brainiac or the flamboyant Raging Bull from Sant'Agata?
