Temptation... this is what reportedly caused the Lamborghini Gallardo Spider in the adjacent images to flip over. At least that’s what the mechanic who took the car for a joyride told the police.
It all started when the supercar, a pre-revamp Gallardo, was dropped in the service for a set of minor repairs. Upon completing the task, 29-year old Niklas Schwartz, couldn’t help himself and took the 500 hp Lamborghini out on the road.
He was driving on a wet road in Austria and perhaps he put a bit too much trust in the Gallardo’s all-wheel drive system. As he entered a bend, he lost traction and ended up skidding all over the place. The Gallardo hit a crash barrier, ending up on its roof. The convertible apparently took the crash pretty well, as the driver escaped without any injury. Alas, his passenger suffered head injury.
Perhaps in order to prevent the driver from getting into deeper legal issues, the passenger refused to be taken to the hospital, so he was treated on the spot. As for the Lamborghini itself, this is expected to be a write-off. As you can imagine, it took quite some effort to get the car back onto its wheels.
