Here's the Kymco Queen 3.0EV, recentrly confirmed to be sold in Europe starting with 2013. With dozens of electric scooters already on their way to the European markets we can only contemplate the piling of of as many different offers as possible and waiting to choose the most convenient one.
Electric scooters are clean and fun, and it looks like pricing is the only thing which stands in the way of massive sales. The Kymco Queen 3.0EV is a light one, with an 85 kg (187 lbs) mass and a 4 hp engine capable of delivering 17 Nm (more than 12 lb-ft) of torque.
Loaded with a 58V, 20 Ah battery, the 3kWh Kymco Queen 3.0EV provides a 60 km autonomy @ 30 km/h (18.6 mph). A full charge takes around 2.5-3 hours, while the regenerative energy brakes will also help improving the available range. An 125cc equivalent 6 kWh Queen will also be available, Kymco notes.
It will be definitely fun seeing a ton of electric scooters prowling silently across the European streets as of the next year. Or at least we hope we'll get to see more of such vehicles in the already crowded European cities as soon as possible.
