Over the last three decades, Kimberley Kampers has built a solid reputation as one of the leading manufacturers of luxury off-road trailers, caravans, and motorhomes in Australia. During this time, the company has also spread its wings into other territories, including the United States.
The company has delivered countless leisure vehicles across various model ranges, each characterized by innovation, eye-catching modern design, remarkable off-road capability, and comfortable living quarters. The latest addition to the RV manufacturer's lineup is Kube, a premium teardrop camper trailer that looks ready to go anywhere your tow vehicle will go. The good news is that this newest model has made its way to the United States and is already available for pre-order.

Though the American arm of Kimberley Kampers announced pre-ordering for the new Kube in early May, now it has also added the fashionable teardrop trailer to its website, along with a downloadable brochure and full pricing breakdown.

If you've been eyeing the company's products and would like to do some road-tripping and overlanding in a stylish teardrop this summer, get ready to shed US$53,297 for the entry-level Classic version of the Kube and US$59,969 for an upgraded Ecotrek model. They're certainly not cheap but let's explore what they have to offer and see whether the price is justified.

The robust, lightweight, and compact Kube teardrop is Kimberley's smallest trailer but is just as capable of tackling the American continent's rugged terrain as the other models in the brand's lineup. It measures 17 feet (5.2 meters) in length, 5.9 feet (1.8 meters) in width, and 6.9 feet (2.1 meters) in height and shares many of the design and construction features of other Kimberley models, but on a smaller scale.

Introduced by the company as a "luxury off-road teardrop camper trailer," the Kube boasts an attractive, contemporary design that combines a rounded front end inspired by traditional teardrops with a more squarish upper body and a vertical wall at the rear.  Perhaps a "squaredrop” would be a better word to describe the shape of this trailer. The distinctive body shape, coupled with the slightly increased length compared to other typical teardrops, maximizes interior space without compromising its aerodynamics or towability.

Built on a single-axle trailer, this compact camper boasts a galvanized chassis and a single-mold composite body shell with polyurethane stone protection and flooring made from 100% recycled ArmaPET plastic. Highlighting its ability to traverse challenging terrain are the independent trailing arm suspension with 2.5" monotube shock absorbers and manual filling airbags, power-assisted hydraulic disc brakes, AL-KO off-road coupling, and 16-inch steel wheels mounted on BFG KO2 all-terrain tires.

Kube's interior boasts a minimalist design but feels like a luxury hotel room thanks to beautiful finishes and large windows on all sides that offer those inside 270-degree views of their surroundings. Unlike other teardrop trailers, it doesn't have a tailgate galley, which frees up a lot of interior space for sleeping and living. As a consequence, the interior is capacious enough to fit a true Australian king-size bed, measuring 72 x 80 inches (183 x 203 cm), and a full-width console comprising cubbies and drawers for storage, a Corian countertop, a minibar, and an 85-liter fridge/freezer. The bed is surrounded by sleek overhead cabinets for personal belongings.

With two entrance doors across from each other, you get a full-width "hallway” between the bed and the console that offers adventurers easy access to items inside and ensures optimal ventilation. An overhead skylight in this area brings in even more sunlight.

The traditional galley kitchen has been replaced by a pull-out outdoor kitchen that slides out of the left rear corner. It's an expandable stainless steel unit with various storage drawers, a dual-burner gas stove, a sink with cold and hot water, and a prep area. Optionally, you can get a stainless steel dining table that attaches to the slide, while an awning provides shade and shelter for your outdoor cooking and dining space.

The abundance of storage space is also a highlight of this small camper. Despite the obvious space limitations, the designers incorporated a slew of overhead cabinets, a large drawer below the bed, a sizeable UniPOD exterior storage box located on the trailer tongue, plus storage for gas and jerry cans.

Though there is no internal bathroom, the manufacturer offers an optional privacy tent where you can take a hot shower and use the restroom.

Other essential features include a 200-Ah lithium battery, a 120-liter (31.7-gallon) fresh water tank, and the company offers an extensive list of options, including a Bluetooth soundbar, up to 540W of solar power, a diesel heater, air conditioning, a 24-inch smart TV, roof and bike racks, a winterization package, and more.

All in all, it seems that you indeed get plenty of value for your money. With its blend of modern design, sturdy construction, comfy interior, and panoramic views, the Kimberley Kube travel trailer does stand out and would make a great companion for your off-road adventures.
