Korean manufacturer Kia keeps on teasing the upcoming street version of the VG concept car, unveiled earlier this year at the Seoul Motor Show as the Kia KND-5. Although they don't bring anything new to the VG story, these renderings are, according to kia-world.net, the official images depicting the production version.
The soon-to-be sedan will be powered by a 2.4l gasoline engine developing, according to the source, around 200 hp. A bigger, 3.5l V6 Lambda engine, developing in excess of 250 hp is also said to join the range. The future VG will share its platform with the next generation Hyundai Azera.
Last month, the Korean manufacturer released the first photos showing the interior of the VG. it was the first time the world got to see it, as at the Seoul show the VG was encased in a glass booth so visitors and journalists, try as they might, did not get a chance to take a peek inside.
On the interior, the seats come in Alcantara leather and high-end appointments and are created to give you a place to sit and enjoy both the ride and the infotainment systems featured on the VG. Techs and toys in the VG include a "industry's first" 12.3 inch full HD LCD cluster, data conversion type start button and AMOLED 7-inch display.
Expectations are the VG will enter the South Korean market by the end of the year, most likely in November. Rumor is it will be brought to the US as well, the following year, to replace the Amanti. The most likely place for VG's production version debut in the US is the 2010 North American International Auto Show.
