Kia has shown a couple of renderings or computer edited images of their next car. It’s called the Carens and its a sleek new MPV design that will debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 27th.
“With a completely fresh, sleek, cab-forward design, lower roofline, longer wheelbase, larger wheels (up to 18-inch) and chrome beltline accent, the new Carens has been conceived around the theme ‘responsive space’. The new Carens will combine sporty looks with spacious functionality and an emotional appeal that is becoming a regular feature of Kia products,” Kia says.
The styling of the new Carens borrows from the Cee’d with a strong grille and very elongated headlights that sweep towards the A-pillar. The side profile is also very interesting, with a long character line going the length of the car.
"We will launch a five-seat and seven-seat compact minivan that will replace both the Carens and Carnival," said Paul Philpott in a previous statement.
The car was developed in collaboration with partner automaker Hyundai, who will market it as the ix30. It’s been speculated that the Carens will be called the Rondo in some markets, and that it will be offered with optional all-wheel drive.
