You probably don't think the Kia EV6 is old. And it's not. After all, production started in South Korea three years ago, and the model uses a modern platform that is shared with the EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, and the Genesis GV60.
For the 2025 model year, the EV6 has received a few interesting updates. It's a mid-cycle refresh of the battery-electric crossover looking better than its predecessor. It has a revamped face with new lighting units similar to certain concepts. The bumper and lower grille were also redesigned. It has a rear light bar and new alloys that round off the makeover on the outside.

A revised curved panoramic display was fitted in the cabin, mixing the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. The steering wheel was part of the revisions and sports a two-spoke design. Moreover, a fingerprint reader allows users to start the motor without utilizing a key and future buyers will be glad to know that it has wireless phone integration and OTA updates.

The 77.4 kWh battery pack was replaced by an 84 kWh unit. Thus, the RWD variants fitted with 19-inch alloys can now travel for 307 miles (494 km) in the company's home market of South Korea, up from the previous iteration's 295 miles (475 km). It supports DC fast charging up to 350 kW, and a recharge takes 18 minutes from 10 to 80 percent.

Additional upgrades include the modified dampers, so the 2025 Kia EV6 is now more comfortable. Choosing a dual-motor variant will get you 320 horsepower (325 ps/239 kW) and 446 pound-foot (605 Nm) of torque to play with, whereas the rear-wheel drive ones enjoy 225 horsepower (228 ps/168 kW) and 258 pound-foot (350 Nm) of torque.

However, while the current Kia EV6 is anything but outdated, especially with the mid-cycle refresh, certain petrolheads think a new generation would be a welcomed upgrade. Tedoradze.giorgi is one of them and he set out to imagine what a brand-new one would look like, sharing the digital illustrations of this hypothetical electric crossover on social media a few hours ago.

The new model looks significantly more advanced than the current one. It has double full-width light bars at both ends linking the main units together, reinterpreted bumpers, a cleaner profile with the same flush-mounted door handles, a slightly sportier roofline, and large alloys. The pixel manipulator went for a white paint finish, a few black elements, privacy windows, and a few other bits and bobs that contribute to the CGI makeover.

Now, it's clear that these renderings are unrealistic, but if you had to choose between the real 2025 Kia EV6 and this hypothetical model, which one would you buy?
