Ever heard of Keating Supercars? If you have not, that’s because Keating Supercars is a boutique manufacturer that was founded just 10 years ago. And like all young boutique carmakers, this outfit promises to build an overly powerful and fast supercar.
Up to this point, the Greater Manchester-based company prides itself on four products that have been built in very limited numbers due to lack of demand. After the TKR, SKR, ZKR, and The Bolt, the time has come for Keating to announce the Berus, a.k.a. that 3D rendering in the featured pic.
Am I the only one who sees a teeny-weeny bit of McLaren P1 in this thing? As in the Emmental cheese-inspired hood vents? Be that as it may, the Keating Berus is nothing but fiction right now. As per its swaggering maker, the all-new go-faster machine will make its debut next year in April at Top Marques.
Developing, testing, and getting a supercar ready for production in less than a year is, I'm sure you've already thought of, impossible. Despite everything, the supercar which is named after a snake promises to pack a thumping great V8 that will enable it to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.4 seconds and on to a top speed of more than 230 mph (370 km/h). As if these numbers weren’t unlikely enough, Keating Supercars also promises that it will make an Electric Berus, packing 150 - 300 kW (204 - 408 PS) and 1,054 lb-ft (1,429 Nm).
Anthony Keating, the head honcho of Keating Supercars and an alumnus of the University of Bolton, said: “The Berus's namesake is reflected in its design; including the lights which resemble those of a snake and the front which appears to display the snake's fangs. The car is engineered, designed and will be built in Bolton.” Well, good luck with that and Godspeed, ambitious man from Greater Manchester. I, however, will not be keeping my hopes up.
