It's better to be late to the game than not being invited at all and having to watch from the outside. Rapper Kanye West, who now goes solely by Ye, has finally joined the celebrity Cybertruck owners club.
Since the Tesla Cybertruck started the first batch of deliveries in late 2023, celebrity watchers and Tesla supporters alike have joined forces to keep track of the biggest names to take delivery of one e-truck. The first batch of Cybertrucks is the Founders Edition, the Cyberbeast, so in addition to the privilege of being among the first people in the world to drive it, owners also get entry into the Cyberbeast "club."
We can now add Kanye's name to the list. According to buzz online, the rapper took delivery of his own Cyberbeast the other day and promptly took it out for a ride. However, he chose not to drive himself but opted for a designated driver – perhaps a wise choice considering the amount of attention from the paparazzi he tends to attract on every one of his outings.
Ex-wife Kim Kardashian took delivery of her own Cybertruck before Kanye, which is strange considering that the rapper used to be very close once to Tesla co-founder Elon Musk. They were so tight that, at one point when Kanye was running for President of the United States, Musk publicly supported him on X, back in the day when it was still called Twitter.
They had a falling out later, and that, too, became very public. Kanye accused Musk of "backing" Kardashian by refusing to speak up to defend him and then claimed that Musk had somehow used their friendship to get more people on Twitter once he (Musk) bought it. The whole thing is actually more complicated than a half-decent daytime soap opera, so suffice it to say that Musk and Kanye are probably still not friends.
But business is business, and even if Kanye's finances have taken a huge hit in recent years due to his erratic behavior and unacceptable public statements, he can still afford to splurge on the angular-shaped e-truck.
We should expect to see him more often in it, as it will probably replace his previous most favorite daily driver, a Toyota Mega Cruiser he had imported from Japan and had customized as a gift to his current wife, Bianca Censori. Kanye would drive it as often as she did, so it's fair to call it his car, just as much as it was hers.
A badass, imposing Mega Cruiser military vehicle customized by Camplife Customs, now replaced by an Apocalypse-ready, bullet-proof (though not hail-impervious) Cybertruck built like a tank, as Musk once described it. You could say that Kanye West has a very specific taste in cars based on his two most recent choices alone.

I guess Kanye West received his Cybertruck. I'd heard he was getting a Cyberbeast. pic.twitter.com/h1BVfcp2gX
