What's a music video without an awesome ride to show off, a visual reminder to the rest of the world that you've arrived and have no possible rival in terms of success, social status, talent, and good taste? If you ask Kanye West that, the answer is probably "nothing."
Rap music has deep ties with the automotive world, though not of the direct kind. Rappers are often car enthusiasts or even rabid collectors, and their music videos reflect this passion, whether they choose to show off their own collectibles or not. For car enthusiasts, these videos are a treasured glimpse into another world, even if they're not fans of the music.

Much like in real life – and yes, we know that this is a very superficial way of thinking – your worth is based on the things you own, so, by extension, the more awesome the cars in your videos, the better artist. Kanye West, now going by Ye, knows that.

Last weekend, Ye and his new wife, Bianca Censori, were spotted driving around Los Angeles in the customized Toyota Mega Cruiser he bought for her last year. It wasn't some random outing, though: according to reports, Bianca drove Ye, Playboi Carti, and Luka Sabbat on a production set, where the three recorded footage for an upcoming music video.

In other words, the Mega Cruiser, which already has a small online following due to the simple fact that it's believed to be the second such vehicle in the entire country, is about to become a bona fide star once it makes its debut in a music video. Kanye West has been teasing his Vultures albums for months, and the latest update is that it will be released in three volumes, with the first part dropping on February 9.

If the timeline sticks, a music video for the leading single should accompany the release – assuming, of course, Ye has any intention of putting out the material in a conventional way. The album, we should note, is self launched after Ye was dropped by all his representatives in light of his anti-Semitic comments.

As for what fans should expect in terms of visuals, Ye is hinting at a Halloween-meets-doomsday vibe. For the outing, he wore a Jason Vorhees mask and a Mike Myers mask on top – a hilarious look on anyone else, but at least it played into the post-apocalyptic vibe of the Mega Cruiser. Carti and Sabbat, who rode in the open, canvas-covered back, were also donning costumes and painted faces.

Toyota produced some 3,000 units of the Mega Cruiser for the military and emergency response personnel, but an estimated 135 of them still ended up in civilian hands.

Until last year, no Mega Cruiser had been imported into the U.S., and Kanye's is the second to be shipped in. It's powered by a 153 hp 4.1-liter turbodiesel engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and features four-wheel steering, center and rear locking differentials, two-speed transfer case, and centralized tire inflation system.

Camplife Customs handled the customization on the vehicle, which seems to be the HMV (high mobility vehicle) model. It included an all-white paintjob and a white canvas cover for the rear.
