When we visited British aftermarket developer Kahn, we found a special project in one of their offices, where the designers were playing with a wheels for the Land Rover Defender and the company’s latest release reminds us of that. Kahn recently released its take on the British offroader, with this using the XS 90 designation and being offered under Kahn’s Chelsea Truck Company sub-brand.
The Kahn Defender is finished in Orkney Grey, using a Satin Black front light protector surround and mesh grille, while the same color is featured on the Kahn front grille surround and mesh. Other custom elements include the indicator lenses, xenon headlights and the branded rear-mounted spare wheel.
However, the interior is the part of the car that impresses the most, as Kahn has left behind the Defender’s agricultural standard interior, completely transforming the cabin. Climbing aboard, we find custom front and rear seats, which are finished in quilted red leather. Red leather is also used for the center console, dashboard, gear gaiter, roofliner, sun visors, as well as door tops (here the material is quilted again). Kahn also introduced custom dials and machined aluminum pedals.
It is now time to get back where we started this article from, as we have to talk about the Kahn wheels of the car. The 1983 RS Defender rims use an 18x8-inch size, a black finish and are wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain rubber.
