Audi makes no exception to the rule and today revealed that June was the best sales month of 2009 with 7,524 units delivered to buyers in the country.
Overall, most Audi's models performed well in June, include the A5 which achieved sales of more than 167 percent over the same month of the previous year. Audi A5 sales increased over last year by 167.9%, with 635 units sold this June. Audi Q5 sold 1,324 units in June, surpassing the previous month's figures by no less than 84.9 percent. June was the fourth full month of sales for the A5.
"Each month of 2009 has demonstrated the strength of the Audi brand in the face of difficult economic headwinds,” said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. “The trend is clear: Audi is outperforming the rest of the imported luxury car market on a percentage basis. And this is happening without extraordinary discounting and other gimmicks. It is a testament to the long-term momentum Audi has developed and the caliber of our products in the freshest fleet out there.”
The Q7 TDI delivered 202 units in June, representing 26 percent of total Q7 sales. As for the the Q7, the company sold a total of 771 vehicles last month. Audi A4 Cabriolet improved sales by 20 percent over May 2009 but fell 4.9 percent when compared to June 2008 figures. Overall sales of the Audi A4 model portfolio reached 3,644 units in June and 18,101 through the first six months of the year.
