The 2014 Corvette Stingray is pretty impressive with its 450 HP and 450 lb-ft of torque, but GM’s halo car has much more potential. You just have to take it to the right people. And by this we mean Hennessey Performance, who managed to squeeze 603 HP and 535 lb-ft of torque out of the new Corvette by adding their naturally aspirated HPE600 upgrade.
Now that updates are in place, all they need to do is put the sportscar through some serious testing, which requires a test track and an experienced driver. This time it was up to John Heinricy, former racing driver and assistant chief engineer for the Corvette, to take Hennessey latest creation for a stroll around the Lonestar Motorsports Park.
Well, it’s not exactly a stroll, as Heinricy puts the hammer down like in the good ole days when he was racing Corvettes and Camaros in the SCCA National Championship. Check him out in the video below and make sure you pump up the volume for the full V8 experience.
