After we’ve learned of the fracas incident that took place outside the Simostone Hall Hotel and that the Full Throttle motoring show on Channel 4 is just “utter bollocks,” Clarkson news keeps on coming. The latest fracas installment comes from the Radio Times.
The aforementioned publication has learnt from Jimmy Mulville, the managing director of Hat Trick Productions, that the third episode of Have I Got News For You Series 49 will be hosted by none other than Jeremy Clarkson. Thing is, will Jezza get to actually host the show after punching producer Oisin Tymon?
Jimmy Mulville thinks that it’s possible: “As far as I’m concerned he is hosting Have I Got News for You, the BBC has not told me what to do yet and it will be an interesting conversation. He is due to present the third episode which I think is in early May,” although episode three is set to air on April 24th.
But here is where it all gets hilarious: “Maybe we will get the producer [Oisin Tymon] on so he can hit Jeremy Clarkson live on television.” Well now, somebody’s in good spirits regarding the biggest scandal the BBC finds itself in at the moment. As it happens, Radio Times asked some questions regarding this statement and Mulville backed off.
“I don’t think the BBC know that he is due to be on. It would be great. Have I Got News for You tries to have a bit of mischief so we will see if he can come on.” Considering that Jeremy Clarkson threw a pen at Ian Hislop in 2008 on HIGNFY, a feat that left Hislop bleeding from the cheek, the BBC is better recommended to thread carefully.
In other Jeremy Clarkson-related news, The Spectator is telling us that Labour MP Michael Dugher declared today that “when you look at it, there’s a consistent pattern of pretty obnoxious, racist behaviour. The idea he [Jeremy Clarkson] should be on a publicly funded broadcaster is for the stone age.”
This statement was made by the Shadow Transport Secretary at a conference today. Jezza insulted the Labour MP in the past. No wonder why Dougher added that “idiot” is a “compliment” in Clarkson’s case...
UPDATE: Jeremy Clarkson: "I'll do one last lap of Top Gear track before f****** b******* sack me"
