Jeremy Clarkson Reveals the Identity of The Stig: Michael Schumacher

The mystery of the Stig has been unveiled on Sunday night, when British TV Show Top Gear decided to finally reveal the true identity of their controversial test driver. And it was the very host of the show Jeremy Clarkson who proceeded in asking The Stig to reveal his true identity.

The event happened yesterday night, following a new track record of the aforementioned TV Show. Having driven a Ferrari FXX, the popular test driver was invited on the floor of the British programme. When asked to take away his mask, the driver did not show any sign of opposition, revealing F1's now 40-year-old seven time world champion Michael Schumacher.

The show continued when Clarkson jokingly asked The Stig to state his full name – after he had taken away his mask. Schumacher played along, answering “You have to have some secrets”.

Although this happened on the set of the Top Gear BBC car programme – therefore it was official – it appears the identity of The Stig will continue to remain a mystery. How so? Well, after revealing Michael Schumacher to the world, a spokesman for the British broadcaster confirmed that the former Ferrari driver was The Stig only for the Ferrari segment.

This practically adds to the rumors – previously running around in the British media – that The Stig is actually played by multiple drivers. Earlier this year, it surfaced the media that the driver who actually plays The Stig on a day to day basis was none other than 33-year-old Ben Collins. However, the BBC never confirmed it officially.
