We all know Jeep accessories spread far beyond what the Mopar accessory catalog offers and yet nothing could prepare one for an encounter with the Wrangler in the pic above. No, this is not Photoshop, we are actually dealing with a macrame spare tire cover here.
The Jeep was photographed in Astoria, Oregon, but we can only assume the custom wheel cover comes from the owner’s grandmother, since the actual origin of the thing has not been tracked down.
We were a bit amazed to come across a website that offers “custom handmade spare tire cover designs” - from black and white to colorful skulls, it’s all out there on the market, with the prices ranging from $45 to $85, which, like we said, is a pretty good match for the pricing of the official accessories.
One might argue that such a spare wheel cover will easily get dirty, but wouldn’t this add to the offroading credentials of the Wrangler? You probably don’t even have to worry about the cleaning. If the car wash doesn’t take proper care of it, your grandma probably will.
Now about those snow socks you were thinking of purchasing for a proper cold season preparation...
They say knitting is serious business
Retro or funny flavors aside, knitting takes quite some time, which means that, whether you expected this or not, such a spare tire cover should cost just as much as one coming from Mopar. We were a bit amazed to come across a website that offers “custom handmade spare tire cover designs” - from black and white to colorful skulls, it’s all out there on the market, with the prices ranging from $45 to $85, which, like we said, is a pretty good match for the pricing of the official accessories.
