It took 20-year old James Buescher seven months to figure out "things didn't mesh as smoothly as we had hoped," with his involvement in the Nationwide series. Yesterday, Buescher and his now former Nationwide team, Phoenix Racing, announced they've called it quits.
"It was a great opportunity presented to me to drive for Phoenix Racing and I appreciate everything that we were able to do at the beginning of this season," Buescher said according to NASCAR. "Unfortunately, things didn't mesh as smoothly as we had hoped and I wish them nothing but the best."
Buescher will continue to race in the Camping World Truck Series for the rest of the 2010 season, driving the No. 31 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet starting this Friday. His place with Phoenix for the Dover International Speedway race will be taken by Ryan Newman.
"I feel that it is better for me to concentrate on my Truck Series opportunity with Turner Motorsports and I'm really excited to be back in the series full time. We had an awesome Chevrolet in Kansas a couple weeks ago and were able to run up front which felt great. I'm confident that we can go to the track for the rest of the year and be in contention for wins."
Buscher signed with Phoenix Racing last November, piloting Phoenix's No. 1 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Chevrolet. He was supposed to stay in the Camping World Truck Series as well, but only for 9 events.
