Although this was something that occurred on a regular basis some decades ago, it doesn't happen all that often in our time for a carmaker to retire a new model less than a decade after it was introduced. And yet that's exactly what Jaguar will do with its F-Pace SUV, a necessary move not because the model is unsuccessful, but because EVs are taking over.
Jaguar first presented the F-Pace as a luxury crossover at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It came about as the company's first-ever SUV, and it arrived at a time when this type of vehicle was immensely popular.

That's true even today, so the F-Pace, which sold over 328,000 units (a huge number, by all and any standards, that made this vehicle one of the most successful Jaguars ever), would probably still have had some life in it. But Jaguar recently decided that starting next year it will transform itself into an all-electric luxury brand, and there's no room in the new lineup for this version of the F-Pace.

So, 2025 will mark the final year on the market for the big ICE-powered Jag; coincidentally, at around the same time, the carmaker will be celebrating its 90th year of existence. So Jaguar decided to bundle these two historic milestones together, in a package that is called F-Pace 90th Anniversary Edition.

The special model will be the last release in the F-Pace bloodline, and to make sure everyone gets to enjoy it properly the Brits will offer it as a sort of package for all existing versions, except one of them.

On the American market, the SUV is available in three variants: R-Dynamic, 400 Sport, and SVR, and three trim levels, namely S, SE, and HSE. The 90th Anniversary Edition is based on the R-Dynamic but can also be fitted on all the others. The only one that won't get it is the SVR because, well, that's a complete machine by all accounts, the most powerful of its kind ever made.

The anniversary package is also the model's farewell package, so one would have expected the carmaker to go above and beyond in making the special edition attractive. Yet all it offers are minor visual and comfort enhancements, including a choice of new wheels, privacy glass, a panoramic roof, sports seats with contrast stitching, and an aluminum interior trim. To top them all off, unique badging highlighting the SUVs lineage will be placed here and there.

Jaguar says the F-Pace 90th Anniversary can already be had, and a quick look at the configurator will confirm that is so. The carmaker did not reveal how much all the extras add on top of the SUV's MSRP, but it will clearly bring to cost to more than the $57,000 it charges for the entry-level model.
