Some images claiming to show the the finished body of the new Dacia Logan have been circulating the internet for a couple of days now. We’ve finally been able to trace them to their roots - a Russian publication that released a story on the Logan and Sandera a few days ago.
Judging from the only spyshots captured of the new Logan’s front end, which we shared with in July, these renderings appear to be quite accurate.
The changes from the current generation in terms of styling appear to be significant, and reflect the general change Romania’s budget sedan is undergoing. The was launched in 2004, aimed at developing markets with a pricetag of around €5,000. However, Dacia never manage to make it that cheap, but even at €7,000 it proved a very attractive package even in Western Europe.
The second generation will move even more upmarket, offering better styling, and even an entertainment system with an LCD display in the center console.
Renault plans to invest €250 million in Romania this year, and it has already started to reconfigure the Mioveni factory to cope not only with the Logan II, but also with a range of new engines it’s going to make.
The new turbo H4 engine range - a 0.9-liter three-cylinder with 90 PS and a 1.2-liter with 115 PS. Both of these will also be used by the new Renault Clio as well as the Logan.
