While many aficionados would easily enter a battle for deciding who is the most hardcore car nut out there, we're not sure too many gearheads have thought about their ideal car for the trip to the... cemetery.
Well, it seems like somebody over in Italy has not only given this aspect a thought but also turned it into reality. This is the only explanation we can find for the vehicle in the image gallery below.
Having been spotted on the back of a truck, the contraption we see here looks pretty much like a Porsche Panamera hearse. Sure, since the post showed up on the AutoMoto.it Facebook page on April 1st, it could always be a trolling move, but judging by all the details visible in these pics, this doesn't seem to be the case.
Sure, there's always the version that talks about this please-kill-me contraption being a limo. But while seeing someone respecting Zuffenhausen engineering by not stretching the wheelbase and adding stuff at the back instead may sound like a good thing, it isn't.
Given the rear hatch, this is probably a Porsche for one's final ride. Oh well, at least we're probably dealing with a Panamera S here, which means that whoever gets to use this vehicle while riding in the back passes away accompanied by the soundtrack of a German V8.
Given Italy's passion for coachbuilding, we can see how somebody that may have abused certain substances in their life regarded this as a good idea. After all, Mercedes-Benz hearses go by the "it's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it" principle, so maybe this was the path used here.
And while the abomination being spotted riding on a platform truck might mean it was headed for the crusher, we never know what awaits at the end of the journey, right?
Update: We've come across a pair of pics that confirm we're dealing with a hearse and you'll find them at the end of the gallery.
