The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is this wild beast coming straight from hell. And to hell it goes if the driver fails to tame it. It's either that or the scrapyard if the insurance company can't sell it. For the moment, it declined a $10,000 offer.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat rolls off the production line with that almighty and highly coveted 6.2-liter HEMI V8, charged with 717 horsepower and 656 pound-feet of torque. Mated to an eight-speed auto box, the HEMI makes the ferocious predator flash from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 3.9 seconds, while the needle of the speedometer goes all the way to 195 mph (314 kph). But that was before the crash. Right now, its top speed is the one of the trailer carrying it to the scrapyard.

But those figures are obviously too much for some drivers. It might be the case for the former owner of this 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat who is now left without his car, but with the damage paid by his insurance company. Now, the insurance company is trying to sell what is left of the poor Dodge.

The model is now so crumpled that it looks like its front end has already tested the abilities of the crusher. In fact, there is no area on this car that has not been damaged. The bumper and grille sit on the ground, exposing deformed internals.

The listing on Copart offers no information regarding functionality, but it is obvious that the HEMI gave its last breath in the crash. The front wheel on the driver’s side gathered so much soil that the red brake calipers are barely visible behind it. The driver’s door was severely bent in the impact.

The passenger’s side looks even worse, with the front fender seemingly having been disintegrated. The mirror on that side is dangling from the door. Both the front and rear windows were shattered, so there is really no way we could guess what the black Dodge went through, considering that it is damaged front, rear, left, and right.

The cabin looks just as bad. All airbags seem to have deployed in the impact. Fixing this Challenger seems next to impossible. But it looks like it would make a great organ donor and parts of it would surely send other cars back to the road.

The Challenger SRT Hellcat starts at around $71,000 and can go well above $92,000 when customers start to tick option boxes. The value of this 2023 vehicle before the crash is estimated at $69,663.

Now, the insurance company has placed a reserve on the car, but we are not told how much they are asking. One thing is for sure. It is not satisfied with the last bid hitting $10,300 and is probably going to list the Dodge again hoping to get more.
