In an effort to keep their luxury flagship looking and feeling fresh, Hyundai have given the Equus a mild facelift for the 2013 model year. First off, you’ll notice the restyled grille, which is now more subtle, redesigned headlights and new LED rear lights.
It also gets new-design alloy wheels as well as less chrome trim all-round, for a more understated luxury look. Inside, the already plush cabin gets some improvements, as well. The car gains a new steering wheel, new analog clock, new buttons and switches, plus some new bits of wood trim, and double stitching on the leather seats.
Tech updates include an updated infotainment system, a head-up display (HUD) which projects speed and nav information onto the windscreen, right in front of the driver, as well as blind spot warning system and a new digital instrument cluster.
The car keeps the same two engine options, a 3.8-liter V6 with 336 hp, and a 5.0-liter V8 with 416 hp, yet it still lacks the much-needed diesel which would make it relevant in other markets, aside from the South Korean and US ones. Currently, it is available for order in its home market, but it will become available to buyers everywhere within the next months.
