Hyundai is increasing its social efforts, as the company’s Australian arm is making one step forward in its Hopman Cup sponsorship, expanding the Hyundai Aces program that is aimed at supporting the Kids Tennis Foundation.
The move is part of the “Moving the World” program, Hyundai’s global Corporate Social Responsibility scheme. The Kids Tennis Foundation allows children to enter the beautiful world of this sport, bringing benefits for both the kids and the public, who can enjoy the show offered by talented young players.
“Using tennis as a communication tool, the ‘Kids Tennis Foundation’ helps develop self-esteem and self-confidence in children who are socially or financially disadvantaged and whom otherwise may not get the chance to be involved in sport,” stated the press release.
The Hyundai Aces program was inaugurated last year, offering a AU$25 (USD25.5) donation for every ace served by players during official tournament matches. For the new stage of the development, the doantion has been increased to AU$100 (USD102).
“Hyundai Motor Company Australia has been a proud sponsor of the Hyundai Hopman Cup tennis tournament since its inception in 1988 and official tournament ‘Title Sponsor’ since 1998. The tournament will see tennis greats including Andy Murray, Justine Henin and Novak Djokovic representing their respective nations up against Aussie favourites Alicia Molik and Lleyton Hewitt representing Australia,” stated the press release.
The Hyundai Hopman Cup XXIII runs between January 1st and 8th at the Burswood Entertainment Complex, Perth.
