A few days ago, Korean automaker announced it was branching out into the Brazilian car market with a car that’s more tailored to their needs. From the teaser photo of the HB20, we thought it was going to be a sedan based on the European i20 hatchback.
However, a video was released today, and we can see the HB20 is actually a hatchback as well. The ‘HB’ in the car’s name stands for Hyundai Brazil an the 20 represents the size of the platform, so basically, it’s a simpler version of car we already know.
Changes include a restyled grille and smaller circular foglights fitted inside the existing shape, smaller alloy wheels and other cost-cutting measures. But it’s not all penny pinching, as the styling has more soul than the European car.
The car will make its official debut at the Auto Show in Sao Paulo with sales beginning from October 10. Power will come from either a 1.0-liter or a 1.6-liter petrol engine, the latter available with a 4-speed automatic.
