The German trifecta has become a staple of the automotive industry for decades – and the war manifests across time and space – but also the car segments. One of the oldest brawls, of course, is between the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Usually, it's easy to separate them – Audi's flagship limousine is the most serious of the bunch (and some will also say it's the dullest). BMW's saloon strives to strike a balance between luxury and sportiness to adhere to the Bavarian coat of arms. As for Mercedes, it's the epitome of comfort and poise, of course.

However, as of late, the BMW representative of the triumvirate has gone a little berserk with the introduction of the G70 series – the 7 Series and its i7 all-electric counterpart now look completely different from the norm because of the humongous kidney grille and the split-headlight front fascia. On the other hand, the Audi A8 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class have remained a little more traditional, although the latter also innovates in the cabin to ensure everyone knows they're keeping up with the times.

In fact, the W223 iteration, introduced in 2020, has been very classic and classy in terms of exterior design – and many would like to see Mercedes try something new just to be sure they don't become dull and uninteresting like, ahem, Audi. No worries if the automaker doesn't want to listen to those voices; the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is always willing and ready to lend a helping hand.

More precisely, Giorgi Tedoradze, the Georgia-based industrial designer better known as tedoradze.giorgi on social media, has been developing a quick idea regarding the next-generation W224 Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship limousine. His unofficial interpretation is for the 2028 model year and brings to CGI life a boxier luxury sedan that has more personality than the current iteration exhibits in the real world.

The pixel master has showcased this design project from the front and rear already, but now he's giving it some real-world foes to compete with an unofficial CGI versus reality comparison. Naturally, the biggest contrast is against none other than the G70 BMW 7 Series, even though both the real saloon and the fake limousine are dressed in white with glossy black accents around the body. So, which is your favorite? Also, do you like this alternative styling or prefer the latest design promoted by the Mercedes-Benz E-Class? If you want our two cents on the matter, it's possible the 'droopy' styling will be referenced on the refreshed S-Class, which is probably due out this year or early in 2025. What do you think?
