In the past, if you wanted to shift at an exact rpm to get the most out of your car, you had to install aftermarket gizmos to flash you a light telling you the right moment to shift.
However, today performance cars are equipped by default with such indicators and the Scion FR-S makes no exception. The tutorial bellow will teach you how to set up the flasher and/or buzzer to warn you when to upshift. The system allows you even to set the exact rpm for when the shift light to be displayed, so here are the steps:
Turn on the ignition but don’t start the engine
Press the DISP button on the left of the instrument panel until the display will show REV. and some numbers bellow
Hold the DISP button until the first figure of the number flashes
Hold it again to set the number of thousands of rotations per minute
Press the DISP again to move to the hundreds figure
