After watching Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai," I will likely look at some other classic Japanese movies. But I'll add some modern films in between for the sake of diversity.
I haven't paid much attention to at least one media franchise recently, which is almost strange, seeing that I had an RC Batman motorcycle when I was a kid. The world-renowned character made his debut several months before the start of World War II. Since then, we've seen him in comic books, video games, movies, and TV Series.

Just as I will always associate James Bond with Pierce Brosnan, I have a list of actors I consider Batman's role best. Naturally, you may feel differently about it. I remember seeing glimpses of Adam West's performance as the Gotham hero growing up. And I'll likely give it a chance one of these days if only to see what Family Guy's Mayor West was like all those years ago.

I'd say Michael Keaton and Christian Bale are two of the most iconic actors that ever played the role. And I'm sure I'd enjoy revisiting the latter's performance, as I clearly remember enjoying it when it came out.

You may remember seeing multiple Batman-related Hot Wheels castings in some of my previous stories. And I have considered exploring the subject in a story for quite some time now. If you're a fan of diecast cars and the masked hero, I have some good news for you. Mattel will celebrate 85 years of Batman with a special six-pack release soon.

These will be on display at the San Diego Comic-Con starting July 24, and you can purchase them from Mattel Creations beginning July 25. We're talking about Premium-level cars with mini-figurines of their respective "drivers." It all starts with the 1966 TV Series Batmobile, a casting that has been around since 2007.

Seeing the Adam West miniature next to it makes it much more exciting! It's also interesting to remember that we had a special release for it at the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con. The 1989 Batmobile is second on the list, and who doesn't love a jet turbine-powered car? And Michael Keaton's suit is also a lot more modern.

The Animated Series Batmobile is third on the list, and I think most guys (and maybe even girls) my age will remember this vehicle just as well. Of the following three castings, the Tumbler is the oldest one, debuting in 2006. We'll also see it in the Pop Culture series this year, but it won't be as cool without Christian Bale's Batman next to it.

And then there's the Batman Forever Batmobile and the one from The Batman movie. These have only had about 10 iterations (combined), so it's their first time coming with a metal base and Real Riders wheels. This special six-pack will cost $50, but there are other cool collectibles you can look for if you're going to the San Diego Comic-Con.

I'd probably look out for the Hot Wheels RacerVerse Marvel Secret Wars ($20) and the Fisher Price Little People CollectorTM Batman 85th Anniversary: I Am Batman Set ($40). Seeing all these updates makes me sad that I've never visited a Hot Wheels Convention or a Comic Con event. But who knows what the future holds? If I get to that point, I'll report back with live news from the showroom floor.
