Keeping a tight relationship with dealers and suppliers seems to be mandatory to remain competitive during these difficult economic times and this is exactly what Honda is trying to do nowadays. The Japanese manufacturer handed over two awards for quality and delivery performance to BorgWarner.
Specifically, BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems in Seneca, South Carolina, received a Honda Delivery Performance Award while BorgWarner Morse TEC in Ithaca, New York, got a Honda Quality Performance Award. The Seneca production facility manufacturers all-wheel drive systems for Honda light trucks while Morse TEC builds timing system components for Honda engines produced in North America.
"Through hard work and dedication, our employees have achieved exceptional levels of quality and on-time delivery," said Tim Manganello, BorgWarner Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We value our long-standing relationship with Honda and are honored to receive this prestigious recognition. Congratulations to our employee teams in Ithaca, New York, and Seneca, South Carolina."
BorgWarner is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and manufacturers parts and systems for vehicle powertrains, collaborating with a large number of automakers, including VW/Audi, Ford, Toyota, Renault/Nissan, General Motors, Hyundai/Kia, Daimler, Chrysler, Fiat, BMW, Honda, John Deere, PSA, and MAN.
Separately, Volkswagen also recently awarded its best suppliers, with the German manufacturer emphasizing that a strong relation with all those involved in the company is a must have nowadays.
"We need strong partners who are competitive on the international stage and have a global presence to jointly safeguard our future. In the present situation, competition is no longer determined by price alone. Apart from financial strength, flexibility in dealing with fluctuating market demand together with supply chain stability are also crucial," said Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, Volkswagen member of the board, upon announcing the awards.
