Wet river beds can be far more dangerous than one would ever think in the first place, and it's not because of the uneven riding surface or slime-covered rocks, as it is the instant traction loss as the front wheels hit the water.
The ATV rider in this video found out the hard way that hitting the water at a high speed sometimes causes unpredictable behavior for the vehicles. Adding the fact that he was most likely not riding with the front wheels facing straight forward and had almost no counter-steering reflex, drifting out of control was only natural.
An by the time the rear wheels also hit the water and started losing grip, the ATV was already shifted to the point of tipping over and by all means - the point of no return. Despite the high speed and the hard crash, it's probably the water which broke the rider's fall so he walked away.
