Towards the end of March, we brought to your attention a new addition to the supercar scene. The GTA Concept, as it was still called at the time, is a super car which comes from a rather unlikely place: Spain.
The manufacturer of the Spano has finally released the photos of their mid/rear-engined super car. Underneath the body, the Spano hides a monster of an engine, a 8.3l V10, sourced from a Dodge Viper. Combined with the seven-speed sequential gearbox, (optionally GTA Spano can be equipped with an automatic transmission with paddle shift on the steering wheel), the Spano reaches 100 km/hour from a standstill in under 2.9 seconds and keeps going until the needle freezes at 350 km/hour (217.4 mph).
As an option, GTA Motors will make the car available with an even more powerful unit, a 840 horsepower engine which runs on bioethanol.
Not at all surprising, given the fact that the engine develops a monstrous 780 horsepower and 920 Nm of torque. The body handles all the stress it is submitted to thanks to multi-regulation shock absorbers and double wishbone configuration suspension systems, which allows it to be raised or lowered according to requirements. The body is made of carbon fiber, kevlar and titanium.
Putting all those horses to the ground are exclusively manufactured Pirelli Pzero tires, measuring 255/35 on a 19-inch wheel at the front and 335/35 on a 20-inch one at the rear.
The manufacturer will build only 99 units of the Spano. It will be distributed in China, the Arab Emirates, the US, Russia, Germany and Italy. The price has not yet been released.
