Another turnkey tiny house brought to life by beloved French builder Baluchon is here to steal the hearts of tiny living enthusiasts worldwide. The Midgard proudly displays the Baluchon DNA in all its glory but with an unexpected boost of versatility that makes it outstandingly functional.
Each and every Baluchon creation is a tiny masterpiece with a special story. While it's hard to rank these adorable French tiny homes, the 2024 Midgard tiny house steals the show. Long-term admirers of this unique brand in the world of tiny living won't be disappointed, as Midgard follows the same successful recipe as previous models; still, it's also likely to attract a more non-traditional group of customers as well, thanks to a fresh and bold infusion of urban-style flexibility.

Some of the greatest Baluchon tiny homes are family homes centered around the specific needs of couples and small families. The 2024 Midgard Tiny is different. It was specifically designed and built for a young man, William, as his first step toward independence. The house was meant to be placed as an auxiliary dwelling on the property of William's parents, close to the main house. Luckily, this was more than basic land – it happened to be a lovely garden, the perfect spot for such a dreamy residence.

A different purpose inspired a decisively different layout. Instead of cozy lounge areas and romantic dining nooks, Midgard would sport a cool office area, an informal breakfast bar for instant meals, and loads of clever storage to make maintenance as easy as possible.

Even so, this beautiful home on wheels goes beyond the needs of a young owner at the beginning of their independent living adventure; truth be told, we could see this easily accommodating a modern, work-from-home couple or welcoming Airbnb guests. In other words, Midgard's smart layout makes it timeless and undoubtedly a good investment.

With Baluchon, you must forget about measurements, numbers, and prices and instead immerse yourself in the beauty of the design, both inside and out. These unique, custom homes on wheels are shared with the public more as a source of inspiration for all who dream about the perfect tiny house, and only the future owners get into the nitty-gritty of the mundane details. With Midgard, you'll discover a gorgeous architectural concept that catches the eye and a surprisingly modern interior. Surprising because Baluchon is the epitome of rustic, old-fashioned charm.

The bold combination of materials and textures instantly gives Midgard Tiny a contemporary edge, creating the visual illusion of a home inserted within another home. On the inside, this interesting architecture helps create additional space. Midgard is officially a one-bedroom tiny home with one larger loft and a smaller storage loft. However, its clever layout soon reveals a beautiful ground-level bedroom as well. Yes, it's the commonly found convertible sofa, but it's more than that.

Thanks to the special layout and strategically placed custom-made furniture, this two-in-one lounge area actually feels like a real bedroom when the sofa is turned into a bed. The beautiful cabinets next to it, with additional open shelves on the outer side, are not only an essential storage solution, but they also add a drop of privacy for a cozier bedroom-like ambiance. Surrounded by lovely views of the garden, this makeshift bedroom becomes instantly relaxing and inviting. The separating panels or partial walls are missing, yet this ground-level bedroom feels as private and cozy as a traditional room.

The Midgard Tiny's most versatile area is the kitchen. This cleverly-configured space boasts three-in-one functionality: cooking, dining, and working. The lovely L-shaped kitchen offers a generous surface for preparing meals.

We doubt that young William is already a demanding cook, but this dream kitchen would satisfy even the fanciest expectations. An adorable mini fridge, a cooktop, and an oven are the main appliances. As always with Baluchon, functionality is doubled by aesthetics: the black appliances complement the forest green cabinets and the natural wood countertop beautifully.

An unusual extension of the kitchen was specifically added to be used as a separate work desk. It's cleverly separated from the actual cooking area for privacy and is a terrific space-saver at the same time. The separating section ingeniously doubles as a blackboard-style panel for post-its and miscellaneous notes. All of this turns a basic desk into a cool, personalized home office area.

On the other side of the kitchen, you'll find another Baluchon design hack. A minuscule folding bar turns into an informal dining table with room for two. It's a no-fuss dining solution that takes up virtually no space. Plus, it's cleverly placed in front of a big window for the perfect view. Remarkably, the overall layout stays airy and fluid even with all this extra functionality added to the basic amenities. It's easy to move around this tiny home, and the entire ground floor looks full of light and clutter-free.

Midgard's bathroom is compact and minimalist, discretely hidden behind a sliding door. An eco-friendly waterless toilet and an 80 x 80 cm shower are the basic appliances, accompanied by a small vanity and a mirrored medicine cabinet. A big window ensures proper ventilation and helps visually open up the space.
In terms of storage, Midgard boasts a generous mix of cabinets in the lounge area. On top of that, the small loft above the sofa is also good for storing larger items. The kitchen comes with classic cupboards and a few delicate shelves that are part of the classic Baluchon rustic look. Additional storage is available upstairs, in the loft bedroom.

At first glance, it might seem that the cozy queen-sized bed takes up the entire space. If you look closely, you'll see a custom-made storage box right at the top that also ingeniously replaces the classic bedside tables. Instead of a boring headboard, this design hack is another smart way to add functionality, and it looks good.

Of course, huge horizontal windows on each side of the bed are a must. They instantly brighten up the room and keep the air moving. In line with the overall layout's modern sense of fluidity and openness, the loft bedroom features a semi-transparent barrier made of rope instead of the typical protection wall that blocks the view.

A fixed ladder bridges the gap between a staircase and a basic ladder for extra comfort and space efficiency. As usual, this 2024 Baluchon tiny home packs an impressive range of natural woods, including spruce and oak. On the outside, the wood cladding sections are made of red cedar with an anti-UV protective layer. Natural fabrics were used to insulate the home, which is adequately equipped with electric heating, ventilation, and a hot water system.

Although custom-designed for a single dweller, the lovely Midgard tiny home could easily accommodate up to four people. Most impressively, it's only six meters long (19.6 feet). With its unique mix of rustic, cozy charm, and smart functionality, the 2024 Midgard is one of the greatest, if not the best, Baluchon French tiny homes.
