General Motors will recall over 38,000 Pontiac G8 models due to an issue with the airbag. The automaker has stated that it needs to do some reprograming of the airbag modules for the front passenger seats.
According to the official statement, the affected vehicles were built between 2008 and 2009 model years. These cars don’t comply with federal standards for head injury protection of some passengers, according to an official statement.

The recall covers 38,444 Pontiac G8 models, all of which were manufactured in Australia and imported to the United States. The issue was reportedly found while testing in Australia.

As far as anybody knows, no injuries or crashes have been linked to the faulty airbags.
