Only a few days have passed since the official reveal of Opel and Vauxhall’s new drop top offering, a car which looks quite good, having a very sleek profile and very well-balanced proportions overall. Now, the question is the Cascada’s sales appeal in the US: Would it sell?
Well, we say yes, and it would definitely be an image booster for GM, and Buick, as it is the badge it will bear if it crosses the pond. However, there’s someone inside GM, with a lot of power, who also likes the new Cascada - GM CEO Dan Akerson.
According to Autoweek, GM’s CEO “was so thrilled about the Cascada, that he asked: Why don’t we bring it to the US?” With the CEO’s blessing, the Cascada may very well get a Buick badge, and join the Verano (based on Astra Sedan), the Regal (Insignia) and the Encore (Mokka), making it the fourth rebadged Opel to be sold Stateside.
