German tuner Geiger Cars, which is specialized in US cars, presented its newest creation, a performance package for the Ford GT. Except engine modifications, the car named “Geiger HP 790” also got a bright green paintwork.
With Geiger’s help, the car’s 5.4 litre V8 engine was pushed to 790 horsepower, 240 HP more than its series equivalent. The supercharged V8 reaches maximum power at 6320 rpm and its maximum torque, 863 Newton metres, at 4600 revolutions.
The extra power was achieved by replacing the series-produced 2.3 litre compressor with a more powerful 4.0 litre compressor which develops 1.25 bars. Larger throttle valves and a sports filter were also installed. Geiger had to modify the engine and gear cooling systems and the engine electrics.
To help the car cope with the modifications, Geiger offers a coilover suspension with hydraulic shock absorbers, which have adjustable pressure and rebound damping suitable to the drivers' needs and preferences. This suspension also lowers the car by 60 millimeters. The car has 9x20 inch wheels with 245/35R20 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires at the front and 11x21 inch wheels with 325/30R21 tires at the rear.
Geiger HP 790 needs only 3.6 seconds to reach 100km/h and can brake from 200km/h to a complete stop in 6 seconds flat. The impressive numbers continue, as the modified GT only needs 22.8 seconds to reach 300 km/h and has a top speed of 360 km/h.
