After 21 years of working for Roush, Gary Jurick, the former director at Roush Performance product development, has been named the new vice-president and general manager for the company. In his new role, Jurick will be in charge of Roush's day-to-day management.
“It’s certainly an honor to have Jack select me to be in charge of ROUSH Performance. Joe Thompson has set the bar very high when he was in charge and I will work with the staff to keep that momentum going and maintain the leadership position in the marketplace that we have obtained,” Jurick says.
Jack Roush, the man who has been involved last month in the second aircraft crash in the last eight years, says he has chosen Jurick because of his “attention to detail and inquisitiveness.”
“A leader must be a visionary and able to not only look at what is happening today, but forecast the future and the product lineup that will be needed. Gary’s background will expedite getting products to market quickly and efficiently,” Roush said.
The new general manager will have to focus on a new type of business for Roush, other than the high-performance Mustang builds we have gotten accustomed to from Roush. As announced late last month, Roush will begin manufacturing the Blink home and commercial electric vehicle chargers which are to be deployed by ECOtality.
The Blink chargers will be deployed starting through the EV Project starting this year, with 15,000 units to be installed in 16 cities across the US, under a project worth $230 million.
