If you are a fan of modified vehicles you are probably familiar with the G-Power Typhoon kit for the BMW X5 M. The tuning company has just released a new TYPHOON X5 M project, offering a Typhoon wide body kit for the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and taking the vehicle’s engine further into the performance woods.
The new exterior package comes with an optimized air flow that brings 15 percent improved cooling, allowing the tuner to install various performance parts that bring the power up to 725 hp at 6,000 rpm and the torque to 890 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The torque is electronically limited and can be raised to 1,000 Nm is the X5 M’s standard transmission is modified.
The vehicle’s twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 unit now uses stainless steel exhaust that uses sport catalytic converters and special exhaust manifolds for the turbochargers, also receiving an ECU remap. The engine has also received optimized connection pipes between the turbochargers and the cylinder heads. The SAV now covers the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 4.2 seconds and offers a top speed of over 186 mph (300 km/h).
The exterior kit, which has been designed using a 3D scanner and CAD technology, brings bold, flared wheel arches, aggressive front and rear bumpers, as well as new side skirts and are made of PU RIM. The tuner has also added underbody panels that improve aerodynamics.
The G-Power X5M Typhoon rides on SILVERSTONE RS forged wheels that have been created specifically for this kit and come in a 23 inch size, using Michelin 315/25 ZR23 tires. The suspension has also been tweaked to offer superior handling.
In the interior of the vehicle, we find special accessories, such as a bespoke sports steering wheel, a G-POWER speedometer and carbon fiber trimming.
