The time has come for another Forza to go dark. Playground Games recently announced that Forza Horizon 4, arguably the most successful iteration of the series, will go dark on December 15, with the Microsoft Store and the Steam listings to be removed.
A delisting means the game will no longer be available for purchase, so if you search the stores in the second half of December, you shouldn't find any game called Forza Horizon 4. The DLCs have already been pulled, but the game will continue to be available for purchase until the December 15 deadline is reached. The official reason is the same as always: "agreements with licensing and other partnerships ending."

While some people are tempted to switch to FH5, the game will remain playable and even get a final series of the Festival Playlist this month. Series 77 will kick off on July 25, and end on August 22, at which point the playlist screen will only offer access to festival playlist history. Users will be directed to the Festival Site screen instead of the Festival Playlist.

The game will remain playable even after getting delisted, so the only difference is that you won't find it in online stores. However, I'm certain Forza Horizon 4 will continue to be available in physical stores, albeit not for long.

However, if you want to buy the game, there's no better time to do it than right now, as Forza Horizon 4 has just scored a major 80% discount on Steam. This means you can get the game for only $13.99 instead of the regular $69.99, which, let's be honest, is a massive price cut that you should take advantage of even if you already bought Forza Horizon 5. The Ultimate Edition, which is the one to have if you're a big fan of the game, is up for grabs for only $19.99, down from $99.99.

The offer ends on July 11.

Meanwhile, if you've been playing Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox via Xbox Game Pass, you might want to check your inbox. Gamers who bought the DLC but played the game on Xbox Game Pass get a free copy of the full game. Xbox has started giving away free copies of the standard edition, with codes being shipped to gamers via the Xbox Message Center.

Everybody gets a free copy, and several users have confirmed that the standard edition of Forza Horizon 4 is now available in their library. If you don't see a message just yet, give it a few more days, as the rollout seemingly takes place in stages, so it could take a while until you receive the free copy. The giveaway started on June 25 but should be completed in a couple of weeks.
