Ford Motor Co. will hire 11,000 employees in the United States and Asia in 2014. About 6,000 new jobs will be added in China, where the Blue Oval company will be opening its Changan Assembly Plant No.3 and Changan Transmission Plant in Chongqing.
“With more products, plants and people, in 2014 we will take another significant step in the implementation of our Asia Pacific growth plan,” Dave Schoch, president of Ford Asia Pacific, said in the statement.
As for the United States of America, Ford will hire 5,000 employees, of which 3,300 will be salaried workers, in order to maintain its sales momentum and help introduce 16 new vehicles in North America next year.
“We’ve always said we’re going to keep investing in the product,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas. “The number of launches we have next year reinforces that.”
