As the 2015 Mustang is being prepared for a major, global launch next month, the Detroit-based manufacturer says the new musclecar will draw more customers to its European and Asian showrooms and help increase sales across the automaker’s entire lineup.
“They will want to see it for the first time being sold in those markets. That will have an influence not just on the Mustang itself but on the rest of the portfolio,” Ford US president Joe Hinrichs said at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The 2015 Mustang will make its official debut on December 5 in six cities around the world: Dearborn, New York, Los Angeles, Barcelona (Spain), Shanghai (China) and Sydney (Australia). The musclecar will be displayed at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January and will go on sale next summer, when Ford celebrates the pony’s 50th anniversary.
