Corsa Performance has rolled out a front pipe-back exhaust for the previous-gen CTR, which is referred to as FK8 by the folks at Honda. Priced at $1,714.99 with free shipping within one week, said tri-exit system is available with flat or slash tips.
Said tips can be had with a polished finish (no additional charge) or in black PVD coating ($52 extra). Bolting up to the factory-issue front pipe, this exhaust comes with a flange that allows the customer to run the aftermarket front pipe they desire. 304 stainless steel, 3.0-inch piping,  4.5-inch outer tips, and a 4.0-inch center exhaust tip with a variable tune feature also need to be highlighted.

Even closed, this fellow sounds noticeably better than Honda's exhaust. Corsa Performance further advertises a 42 percent increase in flow and 9.5 additional decibels over stock, along with a lifetime warranty. However, the warranty in question does not extend to damage or defects in the finish stemming from negligence, misusage, alterations, inadequate installation, or inadequate servicing.

Featuring a center-section resonator and two mufflers with no-drone technology, this exhaust is listed with an installation difficulty of three out of a maximum five wrenches. Recommended tools include a 3/8" drive ratchet with 14- and 15-mm deep sockets, a 3/8" drive universal joint adapter, a 3/8" drive long extension, a 1/4" drive ratchet with an 8-mm deep socket, a 10-mm socket, a torque wrench, push pin pullers or pliers, grommet pullers, a flat head screwdriver, and soapy water solution.

It goes without saying that safety glasses are highly recommended as well. If you're not in the mood for DIY or simply aren't good with tools, you are better off paying a professional to install this exhaust.

The FK8 was Honda's first Civic Type R in the United States of America. It went on sale in June 2017, with prices kicking off at $33,900 sans the $875 destination charge. Produced in the United Kingdom, this generation of the compact hatchback carried over the K20C1 turbo four of the FK2.

North America received 306 horsepower or 310 metric ponies, while Europe and Japan were presented with 316 horsepower or 320 pferdstarke. Way pricier than its predecessor, the 2024 model year Civic Type R stickers at $44,795 plus $1,095 for destination. Slightly punchier at 315 horsepower, the FL5 is a manual-only affair that comes in five paint colors.

The no-cost options are Crystal Black Pearl and Rallye Red, whereas $455 gets you Boost Blue Pearl, Sonic Gray Pearl, or the Japanese automaker's Championship White. Assembled in Japan alongside the Civic Hybrid for the Japanese market, the FL5 is Honda's fastest front-wheel-drive production car at the Nurburgring. The Euro-only Civic Type R S lapped the Green Hell in 7 minutes and 39 seconds back in March 2023.
