Italian automaker Fiat is reportedly working on a station wagon version of its Viaggio sedan (Dodge Dart) for the Chinese market.
According to CarNewsChina, a drawing that surfaced on the web this week suggests that the a new Viaggio wagon set to appeal to Chinese young buyers will be introduced in the world’s biggest auto market.
The same source claims Fiat is also working on a hatchback version of the Viaggio, which will be slotted under the sedan. The Viaggio hatchback is expected to debut as a semi-concept at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show scheduled later this month.
The Fiat Viaggio Wagon drawing could lead to speculations about a similar Dodge Dart version in the US, but it’s probably way to early to get excited.
Both the Fiat Viaggio and the Dodge Dart share the C-EVO platform, which also underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
