There isn't much to talk about Fiat these days – it's one of Stellantis' oldest and most cherished divisions. Oh, and last year, it also outsold all the other brands again.
If you live in Europe, you're going to wonder how come Fiat has become a shadow of its former self. In the United States, you would be hard-pressed to remember any of its nameplates aside from the iconic 500 – which recently returned to America as an EV with almost 150 miles of range and a $34k asking price. It could make sense as a city EV – something that you use for quick errands around town when the main vehicle is otherwise occupied.

However, in many other parts of the world, it remains a money-printing machine for its parent, Stellantis – for the third time in a row in 2023, it outsold every other automaker that is part of the newly merged FCA-PSA. Its sales jumped 12% to 1.35 million units, and while at home in Italy, it's not the powerhouse of old, in South America, for example, it holds a whopping market share of 14.5 percent. In the Middle East & Africa, it stands even better - 15.7 percent of the market share and remained the most popular car brand for the fifth time in a row.

Naturally, some models sold better than others – Panda was on top of the charts in Italy, and the Strada small truck was extra-popular in Brazil. At the same time, in Turkey or Algeria (where it holds an incredible 78.6 percent market share), the best-sellers were the Tipo/Egea. At home in Europe, the Fiat 500e was the most popular electric vehicle in its segment, and the ICE-powered 500 plus Panda dominated the city car segment with another magic figure for market share: 44.4 percent. This year is shaping up good, too, as they will finally reveal an all-new Panda plus they also have the 600 small crossover on sale.

How about South America? Well, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has come up with a quick and encompassing solution. Kleber Silva, a Brazil-based virtual artist known as "KDesign AG" on social media, has decided to have a CGI go at imagining an entire family of little Fiats based on the new concepts from February – including the 'Giga Panda.' Now, though, the pixel master has reworked them for an entire lineup of series-production-like design projects.

There's something for everyone – albeit in Fiat's usual subcompact class, where it has always done some of its best designs – a rugged yet modern Argo or Panda based on the Citroen C3, a new Pulse or Tipo plus an SUV coupe inspired by the Alfa Romeo Junior (formerly known as Milano for just five days), as well as a third generation Fiat Strada – complete with a modern turbocharged engine and rugged yet fashionable looks. So, what do you think?
