We recently posted a short video showing a full-sized monster truck version of the all-new Fiat Panda Trekking 4x4. It showed the Panda monster being driven around in a mountainous area, without giving any details as to why the car had been built and what it was doing there.
Well, now we know. The car was made for an Italian TV ad for the Panda Trekking 4x4, in order to emphasize the car’s off-road ability, which if the old model is anything to go by, is very good. However, the monster truck Panda is actually based on a Jeep CJ7 floorpan, with 1.5-meter tires fitted, so it is 3.9-meters tall, yet it judging by the video, it still looks quite stable, for what it is.
The ad was shot in collaboration with Mercurio Cinematografica, while the set was managed by Andrea Faini. The ad itself was created by the Leo Burnett agency, and we must admit to liking its simple and interesting approach to promoting what is essentially a city car with decent off-road capabilities.
