Ferrari’s Chairman Luca di Montezemolo is a guy who certainly knows how to mix work & fun. The latest proof is the fact that the executive has just returned from a trip to Abu Dhabi. The visit included a series of meetings with the Italian automotive producer’s partners in the Emirates and also saw the executive pay a visit to the construction site of the Ferrari theme park.
The chairman sees the project as a demonstration of the company’s passion. He considers that this will offer a mix between advanced technological features and excitement. He underlined the fact that the site will be suitable for a wide public, including families and Ferrari fans.
“Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a fantastic project, realised by one of our partners, who shares with us a great passion,” Luca di Montezemolo said. “The theme park will offer the perfect mix of innovative technology, spectacle and unique excitement with attractions you can't find anywhere else in the world. The perfect place for adults and kids, families, but also for our fans, who will enjoy an unforgettable experience.”
The Ferrari World is scheduled to open its gates to the public at noon on October 28, 2010. The site offers a total of 20 rides and uses a 200,000 square meters roof.
One of its top attractions will be the Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster. This will take thrill seekers past the 62 mph in just 2 seconds and up to a speed of 149 mph. The site will also come with attractions for the little ones, such as the Junior GT, which will see children race scaled-down version of Ferrari F1 vehicles.
