Earlier this year, Luca di Montezemolo said Ferrari won’t build any electric supercars as long as he’s the Big Kahuna in Maranello. On the other hand, the Italian company is looking to develop new hybrid vehicles.
Even though actual details regarding availability and models have yet to be revealed, Luca din Montezemolo confirmed that Ferrari will apply the LaFerrari recipe to future supercars “without exceeding what customers want”, Automotive News reports.
In addition to adding more hybrid models to its lineup, Ferrari also wants to reduce deliveries by 400 units to about 6,900 examples per year, as part of the company’s new strategy for enhanced exclusivity.
Until new hybrid supercars are developed, the Italian manufacturer has introduced the Ferrari 458 Speciale, a more powerful version of the 458 Italia and successor to the Scuderia model. The new vehicle will be showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
