The famous Japanese tuning house has been turning all kinds of full-blown exotic models (and not only) into widebody beasts for many years now. Their portfolio comprises some modern-day supercars as well as several classic ones, including the Ferrari 512 TR.
But why mention this exact model, considering that it left production nearly three decades ago? For the simple fact that Liberty Walk's founder recently took to social media to release images of a tuned example, which features a widebody makeover and some other modifications that might upset purists.

The fender flares at the front and rear, which have a visible bolt-on design, immediately stand out. However, they're not the only modification, as this Ferrari 512 TR also features a new chin spoiler that sends Bosozoku vibes. The added side skirts contribute to the tuned car's stance, and at the rear, it has a new skirt and a ducktail spoiler.

Liberty Walk ditched the classic wheels with their five-spoke styling, replacing them with a Y-spoke set that has ultra-wide lips. Wrapped in Advan tires, the new alloys are significantly bigger than the stock ones and look quite good on this model. Moreover, they also fit under the arches without chopping, even with the new air suspension at its lowest setting.

It's interesting to see that the tuner based in the Land of the Rising Sun has gone for a red paint finish, and in plain Liberty Walk fashion, the supercar features some typical decals. The windows were not darkened out, and we can see that the interior has remained unmodified, with the black leather upholstery wrapped around the seats, that timeless three-spoke steering wheel still in place, and a long gear shifter attached to the gated manual transmission.

Liberty Walk does not tend to modify the engines of its projects, so the motor powering this Ferrari 512 TR is likely stock. The unit was rated at 422 horsepower (428 ps/315 kW) and 362 pound-foot (491 Nm) of torque back in the day, enabling 0-62 miles an hour (0-100 kph) in 4.8 seconds. The 4.9-liter flat-twelve allowed the classic supercar to complete the quarter mile in 13.2 seconds from a standing start, which may not feel like much today, but it was very exciting back when the model was still in the making.

The caption in the social media post embedded below reveals that this Ferrari 512 TR is for sale. Naturally, we jumped on Liberty Walk's website, eager to find out how much they wanted to get from it. However, we quickly discovered that the supercar was not listed there at the time of writing, so if you know more details about the Benjamins, please drop a line below and share the asking price with us.
